Into the New Testament

Sample from Sabbatical Project

As you probably know, I'm spending a sabbatical year in North Carolina developing a web site to teach New Testament exegetical skills. I've just posted a sample learning interaction on my Luther Seminary faculty web site. Surf over to it if you like, and see if you think something like this might be helpful, say, to seminary students. Let me know of any improvements to this sort of thing that occur to you. Thanks.

Sabbatical Project

I've been strangely silent on lectionary texts for a while because I'm working way too hard on my sabbatical project. As proof of this point, I offer an overview of the project in the form of "desired results" I'm hoping for from the curriculum I'm developing.

I'm thinking of developing another unit in the curriculum called, "Praying the Text." Your thoughts on how to build it and/or whether it would be helpful for first-year seminarians in a Gospel course would be welcome. Or maybe as I'm coaching each of the other skills, I can include material on what it means to "pray and work" when it comes to reading the scriptures. I think I like this second idea better, but I'm open to suggestions.
