Politics in the Pulpit?

"And it came to pass, that The Recovery would come upon the land, but still Joe and Marie did not have jobs."

Joyce McGreevy writes a different kind of Christmas sermon for Salon this week. She calls it O Wholly Blight (with apologies to St. Luke). It started me wondering what might happen if a preacher said stuff like this in the pulpit. I have never heard a sermon (or preached one) like this, but the piece has me thinking.

Hmm... all that from a piece that Salon labels, "satire."
